Planning Your Own Wedding in Prague

A lot of couples getting married in Prague don't actually want a full planner. They want to do most of it themselves — pick their own venue, choose their own photographer, write their own vows — but they run into the same wall almost immediately: nobody explains what getting married in a foreign country actually involves until you're already deep into it.

That's a different problem than "I don't have time to plan a wedding." It's closer to "I don't know what I don't know," and it's a completely reasonable thing to not know if you've never done it before, in this country, as a foreigner, with paperwork in a language you may not read.

What actually trips people up

It's rarely the fun parts. Couples are usually fine picking a venue, a caterer, a florist — those are decisions anyone can make with enough time and Pinterest boards. What actually stalls people is the bureaucratic side: what documents are required, how far in advance they need to be sorted, what has to be translated or apostilled, and which office in Prague actually handles what. None of that is intuitive, and very little of it is written down clearly in English in one place.

This is the part where a full-service planner and a DIY couple actually want the same thing: clarity, early, before a deadline becomes a crisis.
